Robin Gibson Gallery - Maryanne Wick & Terry Stringer

This is very different work from what we have seen from previous shows of Maryanne Wick, this work has family history behind it and it’s also quite dark and moody and shows her technique in fine lines and mixed media. Loved the little landscapes in graphite on wood and the still life’s in oil on canvas and those interesting charcoal on padded paper got us all thinking.

Terry Stringer has an interesting head on his shoulders, his bronze sculptures are like three separate images in one, you either walk around them and they change dramatically or you let them spin slowly on their lazy susan’s to reveal different stories. I snuck a touch, I had too, I have to feel the surface.
