Watters Gallery - Rew Hanks

Really loved his show at the Redbox Gallery back in February of this year, so it was lovely to finally see his work hanging in the gallery that represents him here in Sydney.

These Linocuts must take a phenomenal time to create as they are incredibly engaging one would stand in front of one for ages as there is so much to look at. They have a little bit of an ‘old world’ feeling to them like you found one in an old book, just like Linocuts should be.

My favourite has to be ‘Defoliation’, hand-coloured in hedge greens, beautifully manicured to perfection.

Sadly this show closes today, but if your ever in Sydney then visit Watters and get up close to one of these as you will be amazed!
